Hernando Leal is a versatile and innovative musician whose repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the modern music. His musical activities have taken him to many countries in Europa, Asia, North and South America. He appeared in several musical projects with renowned Ensembles and Orchestras as Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra of Frankfurt, South West German Philharmonie, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra of Budweis, Ensemble Modern, Kölner Akademie, Stagione Frankfurt, Karlsruhe Baroque Orchester, Cappella Academica Frankfurt, Ecuador Philharmonic, Bach-Collegium Frankfurt and La Chapelle Ancienne of Zürich. Hernando Leal performed at important festivals as the Contemporary Music Festival of Darmstadt, Weilburg Music Festival, Wiesbaden Bach Festival, Frankfurter Forum für Alte Musik, Magdeburger Telemann Festtage, Frankfurt Bach Concerts and Salzburg Music Festival. He has been guest performer at the National Flute Association of USA and Flute Festivals of Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Ecuador und Peru. Hernando appeared also in projects at major music centers as the Royce Hall of Los Angeles, Auditorio Nacional and Teatro Real of Madrid, Markgräfliches Opernhaus Bayreuth, Festpielhaus Bregenz, Mozart Hall and Opera of Frankfurt, KKL and Opera of Lucerne, Casino of Bern, Tonhalle Zürich, Palau de la Música of Valencia, Teatro Rex of Buenos Aires, Luis Angel Arango Hall and Teatro Colón of Bogotá, Palacio de Bellas Artes of México, Teatro Nacional Sucre in Quito, and Hiroshima City Hall in Japan among many others. He was involved in different CD-productions for exemple with music from ancient scriptures of St.Egidien in Nuremberg and also in a CD-production with the german Ensemble "La Stagione Frankfurt" with music by C.P.E.Bach. He performed as a soloist flute concertos by Carl Nielsen, Anton Stamitz und Franz Doppler. Recently he performed concertos by C.P.E Bach, Franz Benda, A.Vivaldi, J.S. Bach, Johann J.Quantz and G.Ph.Telemann. Another focus of his work is the Interpretation of contemporary music by composers such as: Salvatore Sciarrino, Heinz Holliger, Toshio Hosokawa, Klaus Huber, Robert Dick, Jürg Wyttenbach, Rudolf Kelterborn, Toru Takemitsu, Kazuo Fukushima, Isang Yun, und Blas Emilio Atehortua u.a. He has been prize winner at diferents music contest for traditional music, received the special prize at the Mazda Young Musician Competition, was semifinalist at the Polish International Flute Competition in Krakow and also received the Carolina Oramas and Frankfurt Bach Foundation Scholarships. Hernando Leal finished musical studies in Germany and Switzerland receiving degrees in Music Pedagogy, Orchestral and Soloist Performance, Conducting, Contemporary Music and Master of Music in historical informed performance practice (M.Mus.). His mentors have included Sir James Galway, Peter-Lukas Graf, Anna K.Graf, Karl Kaiser and Michael Schneider. He atended also Masterclasses at important music academies with Auréle Nicolet, William Bennett, Emmanuel Pahud, Patrick Gallois, Barthold Kuijken, Janos Balint, Jeanne Baxtresser, Philippe Bernold, Robert Dick and Maxence Larrieu. He gives masterclasses at diferents music institutions as the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Sevilla in Spain, Conservatorio Nacional in Colombia, Universidad Central and Universidad Corpas of Bogotá, Universidad Bellas Artes of Cartagena, Universidad Nacional Autónoma y Conservatorio Nacional de Música in México, Spanish Flute Association and at the Flute Festivals of Lima and Quito, among others. He is founder of the Internacional Flute Academy of Colombia.

Anna Panova was born in 1989 in Arkhangelsk, Russia. She started to play the piano at the age of five and her mother was her first teacher. In Arkhangelsk she finished Music school and Arkhangelsk Musik College in 2008 (Diploma with qualification: Instrumental teacher, concertmaster). In 2008-2013 she studied in Moscow and successfuly finished the Grad program at the Maimonid State Classical Academy (Professor Elena Petrova) with qualification: teacher, chamber ensemble musician, concertmaster. She is proud to have been involved in the master-classes with the world famous pianists: Vladimir Viardo, Boris Petrushanski, Pavel Egorov, Viktor Derevyanko, Sondra Tammam.

During her study Anna became a laureat of many international competitions: International Youth Contest "Valery Gavrilin", Vologda, Russia, International Festival of Slavic Music, Moscow (2007), first prize at the „International Competition for Young Pianists“ Shabats, Serbia , second prize at the 22nd and 22th  „International Competition for Young Pianists” Barletta, Italy (2012,2014), third prize at the Martha Debelli Stipendium Piano Competition, Graz, Austria (2015).

 

In 2016 Anna finished Master programme in a piano performance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Professor Peter Jozsa).

 

As accompanist Anna Panova plays with singers and various instruments (flute, violin, trombone, guitar and others) at concerts, class evenings, exams and diploma programs, recording, competitions, masterclasses. She actively plays in various chamber music formations and have played solo and chamber music concerts in Austria, Russia, Slovenia, Hungary.

The Austrian lyric soprano Angela Mitterhofer was born in Lower Austria in 1982.
Very early she discovered her passion for music and started developing her talent. She began playing piano and recorder at the age of 5 and took ballet classes as well as early musical education classes. From the age of 8 she has constantly been a member of choirs and ensembles such as Capricciata" (winner of choir competition Austria in 1998), Vienna Symphonics Library Choir (2005 to 2012), "Kammerchor Wien" ("Goldener Saal Musikverein Wien" in 2012) where she would gain experience in a number of musical genres.

Angela Mitterhofer is not confining herself to classical music only, she has widened her musical education and is singing in several jazz,pop and rock bands such as "The Roaring Sixties Band" (support act for "Kurt Ostbahn" -2003 - and "Manfred Mann´s Earth Band"- 2011), Spektakel", "Artett", "Sadako", Bigband Gloggnitz et al. as well as performing the title role in the musical "Max" (Lower Austria) in 1999.
Angela Mitterhofer has also received extensive dance training in tap dance, Latin, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Street Dance et al. She had the opportunity to demonstrate her dancing skills in several musical dance shows at the Wiener Neustadt theatre(2000 o.a. Stefan Flemming, 2004 o.a. Adi Hirschal).

She began her vocal studies (Sologesang) at the Prayner Conservatory Vienna with Mag. Maria Loidl and continued at the Vienna Conservatory with studies in instrumental and voice pedagogy (Instrumental- und Gesangspädagogik) with emphasis on ensemble directing, again in Mag. Maria Loidl's tutor group. In 2009 she successfully graduated with diploma (from the Vienna Conservatory she received a diploma with distinction). .
She continued her education in a masterclass with Thomas Hampson as well as in lessons with Ildiko Raimondi and in the popular music field with Monika Ballwein.
During her studies she completed several acting classes with Martin Beck.
In 2004 she sang as a substitute for the „Volksopernchor" Vienna in a production of "Die Zirkusprinzessin" and in 2005 "Die Csardasfürstin" („Operettenbühne Krieau Wien" ;artistic director: Heinz Hellberg).
Since 2010 she is working as a freelance artist.
At the „Theater an der Wien" she was in charge of surtitles for the production of „Fledermaus" in August 2011.
Since the term of 2006/07 Angela Mitterhofer is a member of the "Kinderoper Papageno", touring through Austria, Germany, Switzerland and South Tyrol. She took part in more than 1000 performances and workshops for and with children, trying to bring classical music closer to children and young people between the ages of 6 and 18.
In winter term 2015/2016 she worked as a singing teacher (maternity leave cover) at the music school Krumbach-Hochneukirchen-Gschaidt in Lower Austria after she had assisted several times at the music school Kirchberg am Wechsel as piano and singing teacher.
In January 2016 she obtained a 2 year recording contract with "Walding Sound GmbH" in Bavaria, Germany. One album has already been recorded and will be officially released in summer/autumn of 2016.

On stage she sang among others Pamina and Papagena („Die Zauberflöte"), Gretel and Witch („Hänsel und Gretel"), Blonde („Entführung aus dem Serail"), Marzelline („Fidelio"),Agathe („Der Freischütz"), Frau Flut („Die Weiber von Windsor").
Angela Mitterhofer, as a versatile artist, has the ability to work intensively with her students while being a supportive and sympathetic teacher. It is her intention to pass on the pleasure and passion music gives to her.
Languages: German, English and basics in Spanish and Italian.

 

Prof. Samhaber-Eck. Petra

Born in Linz, Austria; Petra Samhaber-Eckhardt began to study violin with Gunar Letzbor. After she has finished school, she started her studies on modern violin at the Mozarteum Salzburg (concert diploma and teaching diploma); during this period, she was already very interested in baroque violin and historical performance practice, and took her first studies with Hiro Kurosaki and Michi Gaigg. After her successful diplomas at Salzburg she moved to London for studying baroque violin at the `Royal College of Music´ with Andrew Manze and Ingrid Seifert. She finished her postgraduate study with distinction. While studying she has won several prizes at competitions in England (UK early music, final round BBC music award). In 2011 she finished her Master with distinction at the Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz in the class of Michi Gaigg.

She also studied with Enrico Onofri at the `Conservatorio Bellini´ in Palermo, and became a musical partner of him.

She is the leader of the successful Austrian Ensemble CASTOR, which got an excellent reputation the last years and has been invited to many famous festivals (Carinthischer Sommer, Attergauer Kultursommer, Festival St. Gallen etc.). She is also member of the `L´Orfeo Barockorchester´. She is working throughout Europe and South America also as concertmaster (Michi Gaigg, Enrico Onofri, Ton Koopman) and was invited for leading the orchestra at the Innsbrucker Festwochen in 2016. She will also join the Eszterhazy Hofkapelle Fertöd next year. Chamber music projects with Emma Murphy and Bridget Cunningham will take her to France and England.

In 2013 her first book ´Musical-rhetorical figures in the sonatas BWV 1014-1019 by J.S. Bach ´ was published.
